Payment & Booking

  • All Bookings are subject to our standard terms and conditions, we ask that you read our terms and conditions before making a booking. A copy of the terms and conditions is available on our website. Your attention is drawn to clause 21 (Limitation of Liability).
  • The price on the tariff page is for use of the cottage ONLY (i.e. the annex is not included). The cottage comfortably sleeps 11 but upto 17 can be accommodated depending on the bed arrangements.
  • If you would like to include the annex this is at an additional charge as detailed on the tariff page. The annex is a self contained unit five metres from the main cottage. It has a shower room, kitchenette, seating and sleeping areas. It comfortably sleeps 2, but can sleep up to 4.
  • If you are interested in making a booking please email us at info@westviewcottage.com with your requested dates and we will respond with details of availability and cost.
  • To make a booking you must compete and return a booking form. A 40% non-refundable deposit is payable to secure your booking and must be sent with the booking form.
  • We prefer payment of the deposit and rental charge via internet banking or BACS, but we also accept cheques.
  • Once we notify you that your booking form is accepted a contract will exist between us. We will normally notify you of acceptance by email. If we are unable to accept your booking for whatever reason, including the none-availability of your requested dates, we will refund your deposit in full.
  • The balance is requested 6 weeks before your stay. If you do not pay the balance on time your requested dates may be released and your booking may be lost.
  • In line with most self catering properties we have a minimum number of nights that make rental of the property viable. Although you are welcome to stay for a period shorter than our minimum we would not be able to reduce the price and would therefore be grateful if you did not request this.
  • One or two, well behaved, none 'chewy' dogs are very welcome at a cost of £35 per dog. We will charge separately for the cost of deep cleaning of carpets and furniture if required.
  • We do accept provisional bookings whereby specific dates will be held for 7 days. If you do not complete and return a Booking Form by the end of the 7 day period any dates saved will be made available again without further reference to you.
  • We will require a damage deposit for bookings that include children under 16 years, pets, groups of 17 or more over night or day guests, all male groups and guests where one or more of the booking addresses are outside of England and Wales.
  • Any additional housekeeping to the 11 man hours that is included in the price of your stay will be deducted from the damage deposit along with any breakages. Where a damage deposit is not taken any housekeeping needed over the 11 man hours will need to be paid for retrospectively, as will any breakages.
  • We consult with you before your stay as to how you would like the rooms arranged e.g. whether you would like the zip-linked beds as two singles or as a double and whether you would like sofa beds and/or put-u-ups left out and/or made up etc. We have slept as many as 17 in separate beds with out using the lounge sofa bed, so we should be able to accommodate most groups and try to arrange individual beds for every one (if this is needed).
  • We can leave out up to five put-u-up beds with a single duvet and two pillows (no covers) without additional charge. However, if you would like us to provide bed linen and include towels, we charge £20 per bed.
  • Please note that all booking acceptances, receipts and final details will be sent via email. However, we can post out the final details for your stay upon request.

Check-in/Check out

  • Check-in from 4pm on your day of arrival
  • Check-out by 10am on your day of departure

If you would like to arrive earlier or leave later, please do ask and we will do our best to accommodate your request when we don't have another group leaving or arriving on the same day. However, where we have a same day change over, we may need up to 6 hours between guests to prepare the cottage.

What's Included?

  • Quality, coordinated bed linen (duvets). At other cottages, bedding often costs an extra ~£20/head !
  • Double sized duvets on all standard 3' single beds have provided for extra comfort. The 2'6” put-u-up beds and the 3' guest bed have single sized duvets.
  • Nice fluffy cream towels; One bath towel, one hand towel per person. Towels are often not supplied at other cottages!
  • Heating & (on demand) hot water. Baths and showers as and when you want! At other cottages, gas and electricity can easily cost an extra £50 to your costs!
  • *Tea, coffee, sugar, (fresh) milk: So you can make a nice cup of tea when you get there!
  • *Condiments: Salt for your fish and chips, and oil for your full English breakfast! You don't have to worry about buying the basics.
  • *Tea towels, washing up liquid & dishwasher tablets
  • *Loo roll
  • *Soap & shampoo
  • Hair driers (in some bedrooms)

Dining at the Cottage

  • Our kitchen provides a range cooker with two ovens and five hob rings/plates, microwave, large fridge freezer, large cooking pots & pans and serving dishes. Sainsbury's Supermarket is 3 miles away and Tesco's supermarket is five miles away. Both can deliver to the cottage.
  • Takeaway: We have the usual array of take-away's in the area, however, the Chinese will deliver to the door and we have an Indian that will also deliver for large groups by prior arrangement.
  • Outside catering: We have a chef that will come to the cottage and prepare and serve meals to you in the cottage dining room. £30-£40/head, Minimum of 10.
